Diesel rust
Diesel rust
Photographic print on aluminum
Diesel rust was taken at the Key West Diesel Power Plant near the Truman Waterfront Park. It depicts a part of the machinery left in the building, and it has a weathered feel with textures of rust and peeling, faded paint. I love the bold horizontals, verticals, and almost abstract quality of the photo. This photo was chosen to be included in the 2020 Key West Art and Historical Society exhibition “From a Woman’s Hand.” Read the story behind the photo here.
The second photo is an example of the integral frame built into the back of the aluminum print. The other photos show the size of the prints relative to a sofa that is 94” wide.
Our photographs are taken in Key West and then printed on recycled aluminum by environmentally conscious suppliers. The resulting prints have wonderful depth, light, and color. The frame built into the back of the photos gives them the appearance of floating about 3/4” off the wall. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. They will last 2-3 times longer than other types of prints without fading, providing decades of enjoyment.
