Food tastes better on nice dinnerware

If you’re like us you may be giving your dinnerware an intense workout these days by eating more meals at home. Why not give your meals a boost and make them taste even better by replacing tired dinnerware that you may have purchased years or even decades ago? Chefs understand the importance of plating and the right dinnerware for their creations (see for instance “The perfect meal” by Charles Spence and Betina Piqueras-Foszman, ISBN-13: 978-1118490822). If we can not eat out as often as we’d like, at least we can approximate the restaurant experience by cooking nice meals at home and serving them on beautiful plates.

If the investment in dinnerware seems prohibitive, consider that if you plan to keep new dinnerware at least 5 years, then the cost of a nice set that includes a dinner plate, salad plate, dessert plate, bowl, and mug works out to about $0.10 a day. Would you spend a dime a day to enhance the taste of your meals at home?

Mark makes beautiful dinnerware sets that are safe in the microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Check them out in our gallery or online store. He can also produce custom sets to your specifications. Just contact us to discuss your perfect dinnerware set.

P.S. If you need to make room in your cabinets for new pieces, know that there are many charitable organizations that love to accept used dinnerware.

P.P.S. Update: we pledged to give 20% of our sales revenue to organizations that provide food and shelter assistance for people affected by the pandemic in May and June. In May we gave $487 to Sister Season and in June we gave $482 to SOS Foundation of Key West. We are grateful to our customers who helped make those donations possible.
