Glazing Mark’s Key West Mugs

Our popular Key West mugs sold out last week during a successful Walk on White. We wanted to let you know that Mark is glazing some new ones.

Glazing

One of the last steps involved in the making of new mugs is glazing. He uses various colors and patiently applies each glaze by hand, so that each one is unique.

After he applies the glaze, he has to let it dry before he fires the mugs in the kiln.

Flooding in our gallery

We had to close our gallery for the day on Feb 24. Due to a sudden downpour, the streets flooded and water covered the floor of our gallery. We were all cleaned up, dried out, and back open the next day.

A New Hip

Mark is going to have hip surgery on March 20, so he’ll be out of commission for a few weeks. He’s looking forward to being able to walk without pain again. We’ll keep you apprised!
