Finished Key West Mugs
Last week we showed you how Mark glazes his Key West mugs. This week we show you the finished mugs.
Glazing a Yellow Key West Mug
After Mark forms a Key West mug, he lets it dry until it is leather hard and then applies the underglaze. After the underglaze is dry, he bisque-fires the mug. He then applies a clear glaze and glaze-fires the mug.
Finished Key West Mug
After the glaze firing, you have a finished Key West mug ready to hold your next cup of coffee.
Here are some more finished Key West mugs from the same batch. You can click an image to see the item in our online shop.
By the way, if you have not visited our online shop recently, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. We’ve added over 100 items for you to choose from.
Our Environmental Efforts
We are now a Tier 2 member of Plastic Free Key West, because we have removed two or more plastic items from our store. Specifically, we have replaced plastic bags and plastic bubble wrap with paper bags and paper bubble wrap.
The next time you receive a shipment of pottery from us, you’ll notice the new paper bubble wrap. We have also switched to paper tape to seal the boxes.
Ask about our environmental efforts the next time you visit our gallery! We’d be happy to show you what we’re doing.
